My Story
Hi there! Welcome to my website! It’s nice to have you here.
My name is Tanya and my journey into sound therapy began several years ago when a friend brought me a gift back from his trip to Tibet: a small Himalayan singing bowl. Although I appreciated its beauty, I had no idea of its amazing power and it would have remained an exotic decoration in my home, had I not been introduced to guided meditation.
In 2018, during one of my yoga teacher-training seminars, guided meditation was accompanied by Himalayan singing bowls. I was blown away by the way it made me feel. Almost immediately, I noticed how the physical tension I’d accumulated throughout that day was released and the buzz of my thoughts was quickly quietened. In short, I managed to easily fall into an incredibly deep meditative state.↓
Curious and enthralled, I began to research a phenomena of sound. Combing through scientific papers and studies, Vedic texts, articles and books, I discovered a wealth of information about the effects of sound on the body and mind. This was when I learnt for the first time about the healing properties of sound-induced non-ordinary states of consciousness.
The next phase was to hone my knowledge and skills by learning to be a professional sound therapist. After graduating from the British Academy of Sound Therapy, the Peter Hess® Institute and becoming a member of both the The International Therapeutic Sound Association and the International Association of Sound Massage, I am still endlessly enchanted by the exploration of therapeutic sound. The power of sound to improve both our physical and mental health never ceases to amaze me.
For over a decade, I’ve travelled extensively and visited many countries. I am currently based in Malta, where I welcome everyone to join me on this journey into sound.
If you are curious about sound and would like to experience its myriad benefits, I will be delighted to welcome you in one of my sessions.
